Since January 1997, when the Real Estate Trading Act became law, the Nova Scotia Real Estate Commission has been responsible for the regulation of the real estate industry in the province. The Nova Scotia Real Estate Commission is an independent, industry-funded regulatory body established under the Real Estate Trading Act. It is not a government agency.
